Thanh Pham, O.D.
Dr. Thanh Pham has been practicing optometry since 1999. She was raised in Puyallup, Washington. After graduating from Puyallup High School, she attended the University of Washington for her undergraduate studies and later earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry.
To further her optometric training, Dr. Pham completed clinical experiences in a variety of settings. She trained at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Florida, the Missouri Eye Institute, and completed ocular disease externships at Martinez VA Hospital, Oakland VA Hospital, and Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, New Mexico.
Dr. Pham is certified by the National Board of Optometrists for the treatment and management of ocular disease. She is also certified by the Drug Enforcement Administration for controlled substances.
Gulsheen Kaur, O.D.
Dr. Gulsheen Kaur grew up in Canada knowing she wanted a career where she could make a real difference in people’s lives - and optometry turned out to be the perfect fit. After graduating from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, she fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and has been proudly serving patients here for nearly six years.
She specializes in pediatric eye care, specialty contact lens fittings and dry eyes. Dr. Kaur is passionate about making every patient feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their care.
She is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry, including the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease (TMOD), and is fully licensed to practice in Washington State. Fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, she has experience caring for patients of diverse backgrounds, nationalities, and communication needs - including nonverbal patients.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Kaur cherishes time with her family — whether that’s traveling, discovering new places, or simply enjoying life’s everyday moments. Dr. Kaur is excited to meet you and help you see the world at its best — she looks forward to welcoming you to Issaquah Family Eyecare!
Mahsa Emam, O.D.
Thorough, outgoing and cheerful, Dr. Emam enjoys interacting with patients and meeting new people. Born and raised on the Eastside, she received her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington—Go Huskies! She went on to receive her doctorate from Pacific University College of Optometry.
She is excited to work at the same clinic where her journey to optometry started! In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her husband, family and friends.
Genna Lo, O.D.
Dr. Genna Lo grew up in Northern California, where she received her Bachelor's in Neurobiology and Physiology from UC Davis. From there, she went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry degree at the Southern California College of Optometry and a concurrent Master's in Vision Science with a research focus in color vision.
Her clinical training included externships in ocular disease at the Veterans Affair Hospital in Salt Lake City, the Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah, the University Eye Center at Anaheim, and various community health centers across California.
Known for her preventative approach and warm bedside manner, Dr. Lo is committed to helping patients understand and feel confident in their eye health. Outside of patient care, Dr Lo has a passion for anything art and design. She particularly enjoys sketching on-the-go while exploring the PNW with her family and french bulldog, Fred.
Semiramis Mahmoudi, O.D.
Dr. Mahmoudi’s academic journey took her from Tehran, Iran to Cologne, Germany, where she initially pursued dentistry before shifting her focus to medical studies. After relocating to the United States and earning a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Washington in 2000, she continued her education and received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2011.
With a comprehensive background in medicine and optometry, she is also certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry, including the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease (TMOD), refractive surgery pre and post-op care, contact lens fitting, specialty contact lens fitting, myopia management, and dry eye treatment. She is fully licensed to practice in Washington State. Fluent in English, Farsi, and German, she balances her professional life with diverse interests, including spending time with family, ice skating, horseback riding, candle making, reading and archery.
Scott Oda, O.D.
Dr. Oda began his academic career at San Francisco State University, where he completed his bachelor's degree on a full scholarship. He then attended the Southern California College of Optometry, graduating in 2013.
What sets Dr. Oda apart is his exceptional bedside manner. He approaches each patient with sensitivity and understanding, ensuring their needs and priorities are at the forefront of their care through active listening and open communication. His passion for optometry and genuine concern for his patients have earned him a reputation as a trusted healthcare provider.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Oda enjoys grilling and smoking meals for family and friends. He is also an enthusiast for technology and is his family's personal handyman.
Shirley Wang, O.D.
Born and raised in Washington, Dr. Shirley Wang earned her Bachelor of Science in Technical Communication from the University of Washington and then moved to New York to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree at SUNY State College of Optometry.
Dr. Wang is a dedicated optometrist who enjoys providing comprehensive eye care and she is passionate about protecting and enhancing your vision. She also speaks Cantonese, Chinese.
Outside of the office, she enjoys spending quality with her family and exploring performance and visual arts.
